KejaSwap is Kenya's first verified home-swap and rental platform. We connect verified tenants who want to exchange homes, tenants looking for a new rental, landlords searching for reliable tenants, and property owners who want to list on Keja-BnB — all in one place, powered by Swiss-Secure.

We operate across Kenya — but not only. Our matching engine covers all Kenyan cities and counties. For Swap and Keja-BnB hosting, we also operate in Germany, Switzerland and France. International home swaps between Kenya and Europe are supported through our cross-border matching.

Yes — browsing is completely free. You can search all live listings on the homepage without registering. You only need an account when you want to contact another user, publish your own listing, or activate a plan.

All swap agreements on KejaSwap should be documented and both parties are verified. Swiss-Secure can assist with dispute mediation. We recommend both parties conduct a video walkthrough before and after the swap as evidence.

Two verified users agree to exchange their homes for a set period. You live in their place, they live in yours — simultaneously or in sequence. No rent changes hands between the two parties. KejaSwap's algorithm matches you based on location preferences, home size, dates and budget compatibility.

Swap Unlimited (3-month plan) is designed for permanent or long-term home exchanges. There is no limit on how long the swap itself can last — the plan gives you access to the matching engine for 3 months to find your partner.

Short-Time-Swap (6-month plan) supports stays of up to 1 year and targets internationally mobile professionals and freelancers. The price is higher because the matching is more complex and often cross-border.

Yes — this is one of KejaSwap's unique features. Our matching engine supports cross-border swaps between Kenya and Europe (Germany, Switzerland, France). If a European user has set a dream location in Kenya, and you are looking for a temporary home abroad, the algorithm can match you. Use the Short-Time-Swap plan for international exchanges.

You will still need to manage your existing lease obligations with your landlord — KejaSwap does not cancel your lease. However, because both parties swap simultaneously, you typically avoid paying double rent. We recommend informing your landlord before listing your home for a swap.

For 1,500 KES, you register your criteria (budget, location, size, move-in date). We match you only with verified landlords whose properties genuinely fit your requirements — everything is pre-checked before we arrange a viewing. A further 1,500 KES is due upon successful contract signing. No wasted viewings, no agent runaround.

Every tenant on KejaSwap goes through our 3-step verification: National ID check, M-Pesa or credit card verification, and — for Tenant & Combined plan users — a payslip / income check. Only verified tenants can appear in landlord matches. This eliminates the most common risk of rent default and fraud.

The Landlord Matching plan starts at 1,500 KES. For this, we screen potential tenants, match them with your property, and manage all communication until you have a signed lease. See our plan overview for full pricing details.

All users go through:

• Identity check — National ID or passport
• Payment verification — M-Pesa transaction history or credit card check
• Income check (Tenant & Combined plans only) — payslip or proof of income

Verification is handled independently by Swiss-Secure. Only after approval does your listing go live.

No. You can purchase a plan and set up your profile, but your listing will only go live after KejaSwap has completed the verification review. This is by design — it is what makes every listing on KejaSwap trustworthy.

Your data is stored securely on Google Firebase and handled in accordance with our Terms & Conditions. Verification documents are processed by KejaSwap and are never shared with other users. Your ID and payslip are used solely for the purpose of verifying your identity.

Plans start at 800 KES. The main options are:

• Swap Unlimited — 3-month access, long-term home exchange
• Short-Time-Swap — 6-month plan, stays up to 1 year
• Tenant Matching — 1,500 KES + 1,500 KES on contract signing
• Landlord Matching — find pre-screened tenants
• Keja-BnB Host — list your property at zero commission

You can view and purchase plans directly from your profile page.

Some plans can be combined, others cannot. For example, Swap Unlimited and Short-Time-Swap cannot be combined (they serve the same purpose). Keja-BnB Host includes Keja-BnB Guest automatically. The plan selector on your profile page will grey out any incompatible combinations and explain why.

Payment is processed securely via Paystack, which supports M-Pesa, credit card and bank transfer. You will never be charged without confirmation. All transactions are encrypted and receipts are sent to your registered email.

When a plan expires, your active listings are paused (not deleted) and you will no longer appear in match results. Your account and all data remain intact. You can renew or upgrade your plan at any time from your profile page to reactivate your listings immediately.

When you list your property on Keja-BnB through KejaSwap, we do not charge a platform commission on top of Keja-BnB's standard host fee. You pay the flat KejaSwap plan fee, and we handle the listing setup, optimisation and guest communication on your behalf.

Currently available in Kenya, Germany, Switzerland and France. If you own property in any of these countries, you can list it through KejaSwap. We plan to expand to more countries — contact us at info@kejaswap.de if your country is not yet listed.

Yes. All users must complete the standard KejaSwap verification (ID + payment check) before any listing — including Keja-BnB — goes live. This protects guests and ensures your property is represented by a real, accountable host.
